Description

VitroView™ Zinc Formalin Fixative Solution is a non-precipitating fixative compatible with histochemical, immunochemical and special stains. The zinc sulfate component of the formulation increases the rigidity of cellular components to withstand subsequent processing, sectioning and staining procedures and offers several advantages over traditional formaldehyde fixation methods.

Key Advantage

Zinc formalin provides better IHC and molecular performance than buffered formalin while maintaining equivalent histologic detail.

Package Size

1000ml/ bottle

Storage

At room temperature.

Protocols

1. Tissue Preparation:  Freshly harvested tissue should be cut into smaller pieces (maximum 4-5mm) to ensure adequate penetration of the fixative. This helps in achieving uniform fixation.

2. Fixation: Submerge the tissue completely in the the Zinc Formalin Fixative Solution. Use enough amount of fixation solution to ensure that the tissue is fully immersed.

3. Fixation Time: The fixation time should not exceed 24-48 hours, depending on the size and type of tissue. Prolonged fixation can lead to over-fixation, which may hinder subsequent processing and staining.

4. Post-Fixation: After fixation, transfer the tissue to PBS or 70% ethanol for further processing. This step is crucial for preparing the tissue for embedding and sectioning.
